What Do People Say?
"There were many amazing things we saw and experienced, and not just the Wall but our fellow travellers, our leaders and guides, and the people of China themselves - all made the trip an amazing experience. The challenge started when I signed up. But the experience and people will touch me and stay with me forever".

What's It All About?
Experience wild, remote parts of the Great wall of China that are a far cry from the overcrowded tourist sections of most travel brochures. Combine several days trekking some of the best sections of the wall with a challenging hike up magnificent Huashan mountain in Shaanxi province, following the ancient Pilgrim's paths.
The first sight of the great wall is something you'll never forget, when you see it snaking impossibly across the mountain ridges into the distance. We'll be walking some of the most spectacular sections of this amazing structure and staying in traditional guesthouses alongside the wall at several points, giving you time to explore.

Huashan is an undeniable highlight of this trip and the climb up it's steep flanks is rewarded by the sight of Taoist monasteries, hermits caves and jaw dropping views along the way. We spend the night on the mountaintop and rise early to see the sunrise from the east peak.
This trip also combines insights into modern China with time spent in the capital city of Beijing and the former capital of Xian, where we'll explore the more well known attractions of the Forbidden city, Terracotta warriors, Tiananemen Square and the Muslim quarter as well as our favourite eateries and hidden attractions that don't make the guide books. No journey into China worth it's salt would be complete without a train journey and we experience the fun of the overnight express trains to X'ian (in a comfortable berth of course).
This highly enjoyable journey offers insights into this enigmatic country, showcasing the achievements of the past with the dynamism of the modern day. You'll get a great sense of achievement from completing these challenging walks and experience the fascinating contrast between rural and urban China.
